Old country fair themed party

It have had a busy week so far but I still tried to do some stamping. Somebody  planning an Old country fair themed birthday party for her daughter asked me to make the party invites. I had a hard time deciding what to make to match the party theme.
The party is for a year old girl. I wanted a card with a rustic/vintage look yet with some childish element to it. How was I going to put all this effect in a 3.5'' by 5'' card? So I put on my crafting cap (or maybe I should say my thinking cap).
I came up with 4 samples for the lady to pick from.
I will show you 2 of the cards today and i will probably show you the  third one  and one she picked when the party is over.
My first card I have titled BANNERS

I sponged  whisper white  card stock with red and brown to give it that rustic look, I also stamped 4 sided  sampler on white card stock then cut 6 triangles from each hexagon

This what the card looks like inside.
The second card, I titled My Fair lady.
I  used the all dressed up framelite to cut the image. I sponged it with brown and red.
I also embossed the pink card with the polkadot embossing folder

I really like how the 2 cards turned out. But she didn't pick any of these 2.In my next couple of postings , i will post the card she chose

From boys to men

I was  going through the pile of cards I have made so far and I found out that I tend to make feminine cards. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this but I think I should widen my scope by making both masculine and feminine cards.
So! the challenge I gave myself  was to make 2  masculine birthdays card, one for a boy and the other for a man.

For the boy birthday card, I used the now retired  moving forward stamp set. I made the waves with the  oh whale stamp set. I stamped an additional boat on a whisper white paper, fussy cut and placed it on the card using  stampin dimensional.

I don't like leaving the inside of my cards plain so a stamped off the boat before stamping onto the inside of the card.

I made the adult card using the new timeless talk stamp set . I stamped my image, stamped 2 speech bubbles before stamping my greetings in the speech bubbles.

For the inside, I stamped  3 separate speech bubbles and this is to enable the giver of the card to write short notes or greetings in these speech bubbles.

With this I can say I have completed my challenge successfully or should I say this marks the beginning of my journey in making masculine cards.

Baby Shower

I mentioned in my previous post that this is the season of weddings, birthdays and baby showers. I know someone  is going to approach me soon to make a baby girl card so I don't want to be caught unaware. And much more than that I have been itching to use the  Stampin Up! baby bundle stamp set I got during the retired item sale.
I cased the baby dresser card from http://suebayliss.blogspot.ca/ and http://www.diaryoftwocraftygirls.blogspot.ca/search?q=baby+card.

This is what my 51/2 by 4 1/4 card looks like

I stamped the images of the teddy bear, baby bottle, duck, bib with  stazon on whisper white paper, coloured them with different markers and fuzzy cut them.

I am sure any expectant or new mom will love this card.
